2 April 2026: Malcolm Byrne TD completes his 40th Marathon in Paris

Malcolm Byrne TD for Wicklow-Wexford and a member of Croghan AC proudly completed his 40th Marathon in Paris this month whilst also raising over €2,000 for local charity St Aidan’s Services.

‘A marathon is tough but it’s also an incredible celebration of humanity. I chose Paris as it is the most beautiful city in the world and I wanted to run somewhere special for the milestone’ he said.

Malcolm ran his first marathon in 2007 and has taken part in every Dublin City Marathon since then, including virtually during Covid. He thanked his club mates at Croghan AC and Gorey Parkrun, where he is a regular participant and volunteer, for their encouragement with running. ‘I’ve been lucky to have the support of a very dedicated gang who help with the long runs and the Parkrun keeps the legs ticking all year’.

We’re very proud of Malcolm’s achievements and look forward to running many more miles alongside him in the future.
